As I write to you now, the hour is counting down until my birthday is officially over. I have officially turned 24 years old today, and I am 100% completely unsure on how I feel about it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those people who dreads their own birthday–in fact, I quite welcome the new year. It’s the not knowing what lesson(s) this age has in store for me that’s a bit unnerving.
At the age of 23, I had learned more about myself than I had in all of my years prior. In both the good and the bad lessons, age 23 had taught me how to push forwards when everyone and everything else is telling me to stop.
At age 23, I learned the importance of believing in yourself AND your abilities above all measurements. I really think learning how to believe in myself and my abilities is one the greatest lessons I’ve had the opportunity to learn in my entire life. It’s amazing what one can do when they believe in themselves.
I have no doubt these lessons will be put to use at age 24, and I’m going into this year with an open mind and an open heart.
23 had been a whirlwind year, but I look forward to what 24 has in store.
And above all, I know this to be true: Trust the Process.
